Introduction to the Ideology and Politics of Psychotherapy and Psychiatry



The Seminar consists of lectures - discussions of one hour and a half and includes topics regarding the structure and function of institutions, intermediate structures, Open Centres, the Therapeutic Community and Education.

It also introduces the participants to subjects concerning the purpose and content of Psychotherapy, the structural and dynamic components in the relationship between therapist and patient, as well as principles and ethics during the every day clinical practice.

It is addressed to psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nursing staff, etc. as well as other professionals (such as teachers, jurists, special trainers, judges, etc.) who wish to be informed, either for professional or personal reasons, on some basic issues of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.

Duration: The Seminar consists of five meetings on a weekly basis, on Monday, from 7.00-8.30 p.m. from March 2017 and is open to the public. 

Lectures: the Director of the Training-Research Department, Ioannis K. Tsegos, trainers form the relevant Institutes as well as guest speakers.
